BierCraft Bistro

Its been a long time since I have eaten a burger. My friend invited me to eat dinner with her. She was telling me that she knows a place that serves burgers. Headed to Cambie on a Sunny Saturday. We choose to eat on their patio to see more sunshine. I was really satisfied with their service very fast and super friendly with all smiles.

The Very Easy S’mores

Summer won’t be complete without barbecue and s’mores! A while ago I decided to make my very own home made s’mores for my niece and nephew. It only took 8 minutes to be done. This will gonna be easy and fun to make. Let’s get started!

image

So you will be needing some dark cocoa candy melts, graham crackers and large fluffy white marshmallows.

image

Pre Heat oven to 350F. On a aluminum baking tray, arrange the graham crackers and put the candy melts on top of it. Three pieces candy melts each side.

image

Now add the two fluffy marshmallows on top of each cracker. Bake it for 8 minutes or until marshmallows turn brown.

image

Here’s the finished product! Looks delicious to me :) I like the sweet aroma of the marshmallows. Eat it while hot so that marshmallows will still be gooey. Each bite is full of YUM and not to mention less messy! See I told it is easy to make. Hope you enjoy my S’mores adventure. Till next time chocolates! Cheers!

Ho Yuen Kee 何源記

My aunt celebrated her birthday at Ho Yuen Kee. It has always been a tradition to eat in a Chinese restaurant and celebrate birthdays. This restaurant is one of my favorite. Place was very busy especially dinner time so I suggest to make a reservation. The server always change our plates and refill our teapots. Located at Fraser.

Hello Kitty Theme Cake Pops

After finishing the Hello Kitty cupcakes time to make the giveaways. Cake pops and yup it’s pink! They just want it to be simple but the idea of the theme is still there. I used the confetti cake recipe (same as the cupcake) for the cake base. A ribbon is a must too! Another simple recipe to follow.

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate Ribbons (Hot Pink candy Melts and Silicon Mold)
  • 2 and 4/3 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 12 tablespoon soy milk
  • 4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pink Pastel Sugar

  • Ez thin and Pastel Pink Candy Melts for coating
  • Store bought white frosting

  • Paper straws of your choice and some ribbons and plastic wraps.

Procedures:

  • Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl and mix in sugar. Stir in egg, yogurt, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix in dry ingredients until thick and well combined. Slowly stir in the sprinkles. Do not over mix to avoid bleeding.
  • Bake the batter for 20 minutes. Let it completely cool down and start crumbling the cake. Add the frosting (three quarters) and mix it until well combined and moist enough to create a ball.
  • Using a cookie scoop and start rolling the cake into balls. Place on the wax paper and pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes.

  • After 20 minutes, melt the candy melts. Dip the paper straw and insert it into the cake pop. let it dry completely.

  • Put some EZ thin (shortening) onto the remaining candy melts and mix until the candy melts becomes smooth.
  • Dip the cake pop onto the candy melts and tap the excess onto the side of the bowl or cup.

  • Sprinkle the sugar and stick in the styrofoam to let it dry. When cake pop id done, stick the hot pink chocolate ribbon on the bottom part of the cake ball. Use the candy melt for sticking.

  • You can now start wrapping the cake pops and add ribbon to secure it.

All done! I was very happy when it turn out pretty. I must admit the ribbon really stands out. Everybody loves it! One of the guest comment was that it looks fancy and glam. Thank you ^-^ Hope you enjoy my cake pop adventure. Till next time! Cheers!
