No Bake Choco Chips Cheesecake on a Jar
The talk of the town on my Facebook Cheesecake on a Jar. My friends in the Philippines goes gaga over it. It’s very rare here in Vancouver that sells that. Since I have empty Mason jars why not try making one. I love Cheesecake anyways. Let’s begin!
- 2 oz of crushed graham (crust)
- 2 tablespoon of melted butter (crust)
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, optional
- 100g cream cheese, softened
- Semi sweet chocolate chips for toppings
- Mason jars and decoration
- Crushed the graham crackers and add the melted butter. Stir well. Distribute the crushed grahams on the bottom of the jars and flatten it using a spoon or any kitchen utensils that can help. Refrigerate the crust for 20 minutes.
- Whip the whipping cream until peak. Add the sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Add the softened cream cheese and stir until well combined and texture becomes creamy. Pour the mixture inside the jars.
- Add the semi sweet chocolate chips on top of the mixture. Since I am a fan of chocolate more please! Cover the jars and let it freeze for an hour before serving.
- For the decorations, I cut out some heart shape using red construction paper. I punch a hole on the side and put it in a ribbon. Tie the ribbon on the lid part. You can write message on it. Be creative!
There you have it! My very rich and creamy cheesecake with chocolate chips overload. By the way before eating it I suggest you put the bottom pf the jar on a hot water to make the crust a little bit softer. The only thing i like about making dessert on a jar it is very presentable and you can give it as gift without worrying messy icing or syrup. Just add some designs and it’s good to go. You can even bring it at work eat to go. I hope you enjoy my first time dessert on a jar adventure. More to explore and try! Cheers! More cheesecake and more happiness!
Morinaga Bake Creamy - Cheese Brulee
Cheesecake bites and ready to eat? awesome! I always wanted to try this out because I heard from my friend this treat is very popular in Japan. I saw the TV ad of this product correct me if I am wrong J-Pop people one of the Arashi member was on it. Arashi is a very famous and successful boyband in Japan. So anyways the box and packaging was very fancy with the touch of black and gold colors. When I open the foil the smell of the cheese was pretty strong. 10 mini square creamy and cheesy baked cheese. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Every bite simply just melt in your tongue with a powerful flavor. Actually I didn’t stop eating until nothings left. Ooops! I super love it :) Check your local Japanese grocery store to try it out.

Blondie bars/squares is my least favorite dessert but I think adding mini Oreos on it will be exciting to eat. Blondie actually taste like butterscotch. It is very easy to make the same procedure as brownies but without the cocoa or chocolate. Let’s get started.
- 1 cup mini Oreos or more (crushed, leave some for toppings)
- 1 stick of melted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare your square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, mix together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Add the dry ingredients and stir well and fold the crushed Oreos.
- Spread the mixture to the pan and add the mini oreos on top. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Let it completely cool before cutting into squares.
The bar was very rich an sweet. It was very moist on the inside and the Oreos add crunch in every bite. Taste like cookies & cream. You can serve it with Vanilla Ice Cream on top. Hope you enjoy this recipe. All you need is a little bit of love and some cookies to cheer you up! Cheers!
Tap & Barrel
Another mini birthday celebration at Tap & Barrel located at Olympic Village. I was really hoping that Mr. Sunshine will shine bright since everybody wants to hangout at the patio. Yes indeed the sun was waving hello all thru the day. Went early so we can get a nice spot. Amazing view, nice weather and good set of friends. Oh well happy birthday indeed! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have unique specialty food and lots of cocktail or beer to choose from.
View from above lots of huge red umbrellas.
I totally love the idea they made for the dessert menu. I think this was so cute! Desserts for happy ending? well hell yeah forget the steak haha! Must snap a photo of it :)
Mojito and Caesar
I ordered the Mojito and the Caesar was my cousin in law’s choice. The reason why I love Mojito it’s because of the minty flavor on it. It feels very refreshing and light. It was a perfect mix.
Shrimp and Salmon Ceviche
We were intrigue with this appetizer so we decided to try it out. The dip have serrano, lime, jalapeno and Spanish onion with white tortilla chips. I am sorry not a fan of it. The tortilla chips were yummy and crunchy but the dip was not that tasty for me. Too watery and sour. I think there was only 2 mini salmon on it too.
Albacore Tuna Sandwich
I love trying out fusion food. I think this one was very delicious and light at the same time. A burger that you can finished without feeling bloated. It is a tuna tartare, avocado, miso mayo and craft beer buttered onion rings with crispy fries on the side. Taste like I am eating a sushi burger.
Me and my Unnies had a advance birthday celebration at Kamei Baru. A very nice and cozy Japanese restaurant who serves fusion seafood dish. They also have wide screen televisons so sports fanatic can eat and watch. They people who works here were super great, smiling faces and polite. The service was fast and on time. They never fail to ask their customers if they need something or if we are doing okay. I had a great experience celebrating my early birthday here. By the way thank you so much for giving me a cake and singing the happy birthday song. Located at Downtown.
cocktail of the day.
Deep fried calamari with tartar sauce. It was fried perfectly and very crunchy flavorful coating. The squid was soft and tender. Trivia: I am a calamari person :p
Grilled soft and saucy squid with spicy Japanese mayo. Another squid dish just because we want to try a BBQ version. I just feel in love with the sauce or basting they used on it. It was sweet with a hint of chili flavor.
Assorted fresh seafood sashimi. Yellowtail, Scallop, Shrimp, Salmon and Tuna. Each kind has their on sauce on it and it was all delicious. Nice presentation too.
Chopped Scallop Roll
Fresh Scallop mixed with Tobiko and mayo. This was also good. My only concern was the mayo overpower the natural flavor of Scallop.
Beef Short Ribs
I love these babies. One of my favorite dish in Japanese restaurants. Thickly slices of beef with a very delicious sauce. It was very juicy and soft.
Cured Mackerel box pressed sushi rice then seared befofre serving. This was one of my favorite dish that night. The fish taste like freshly grilled on a hot charcoal. Eat it with the rice HEAVEN! Yum!
It was very fresh and smells like ocean. Add some lime and Tabasco sauce solved!
The Birthday Cake/Dessert
I am not really sure but it is a mousse with a sweet raspberry taste. it was very delicious! My unnies surprised me when the restaurant started playing the happy birthday song and the staff brought out the mini cake while some were clapping their hands. Make a wish! They gave me the dessert for free. Thank you so much!
